Frequently asked questions

The map is blank or my position is missing

Open iPhone Settings, select Privacy & Security, then Location Services. Choose Motorhome & Caravan Sat Nav, allow location while using the app and enable Precise Location. Confirm you have an internet connection, then reopen the app while safely parked if the problem persists. Navigation map and traffic data require connectivity. If iOS asks about location access during background navigation, review the request; the options shown depend on iOS and the permissions the app requests. See the CarPlay help below if updates stop when the phone locks.

An address or postcode is not appearing

Enter the full postcode or add the town to the street address. Wait briefly for address suggestions, then select the correct result before pressing Go. If no result appears, check your connection and try a nearby landmark or a more complete address.

Why is the suggested route different from another sat nav?

The app uses your selected vehicle type, saved dimensions, weight and avoidance choices when requesting a route. Check that the profile matches the vehicle you are currently driving or towing. Route data cannot cover every temporary or unsigned restriction, so always follow signs and local instructions.

Will the app reroute after a missed turn?

Yes. During active guidance, the app detects when you have moved away from the planned route and requests a new route from your current position. Rerouting requires location access and an internet connection.

I cannot hear spoken directions

Check that the speaker button in navigation is enabled, raise the iPhone media volume and confirm audio is not being sent to a disconnected Bluetooth device. In the forthcoming version 1.6.6 update, Google WaveNet is the only speech source on iOS and CarPlay and must be explicitly enabled on your iPhone before driving. Earlier installed versions may still use on-device speech. Preparing new prompts needs a data connection; valid cached Google prompts can play offline while voice is enabled. If the required audio is unavailable, navigation continues visually without synthesized iPhone speech. You can preview, change or turn off WaveNet in Navigation settings, or mute directions with the speaker button.

Generated audio expires from the private server cache within 7 days and from the protected app cache within 30 days. Signing out or deleting your account clears the app cache. Turning WaveNet off stops new prompt requests and spoken guidance; existing cache copies follow those retention periods. Read our Privacy Policy for details.

The displayed speed limit does not match a road sign

Speed-limit data is provided where available and may be incomplete or out of date. The posted road sign and local law always take priority. Please do not rely on the app as the sole source of speed-limit information.

When does a speed-camera alert appear?

For a mapped fixed camera ahead on a UK route, the warning begins at approximately 500 metres on roads up to 37 mph, 750 metres on roads up to 62 mph, and 1,500 metres at higher speeds. The iPhone shows a red camera banner with the remaining distance and camera speed limit where known; CarPlay shows a navigation alert. A spoken warning plays when navigation voice guidance is enabled. You can turn camera alerts off in Navigation settings, which also stops camera lookups for future routes. Camera coverage may be incomplete or out of date, so always obey road signs and the law.

How do I restore or manage my subscription?

Use Restore Purchases on the subscription screen if you already subscribed. Check that the App Store is signed in to the same Apple account used for the original purchase, keep an internet connection and sign in to your usual app account. To view, change or cancel renewal, open Apple subscription settings. Deleting the app or your account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription.

I was charged but the app still shows limited access

Confirm the subscription is active in Apple subscription settings, sign in to the correct app account, then use Restore Purchases. If access is still unavailable, email support and include the account email and purchase date. Do not send your password or full payment details.

My email verification code has not arrived

Check that the email address shown in the app is correct, then look in your junk or spam folder for a message from [email protected]. Wait at least one minute before selecting Resend Code. Codes expire after 10 minutes and requests are limited to protect your account. If the message still does not arrive, contact support before creating another account.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, open Settings, choose Delete Account and confirm. You can also review the process on the account deletion page. Account deletion is permanent and does not cancel an Apple subscription.

Face ID is not unlocking the app

Confirm Face ID is enabled for the app in iPhone Settings. You can sign in with your account password if biometric authentication is unavailable. The app never receives or stores your Face ID template.

How do I find, book and navigate to a UK site?

Open the Sites tab (UK Sites). Search by campsite name, town or postcode, or browse the map and list. Use filters such as dog-friendly, adults-only or club sites; clear filters if you cannot find a result.

Select a site to view its details. Use its booking link when available, and confirm availability, facilities and vehicle access with the site before booking. To travel there, choose the navigation option, check your selected vehicle profile and route preview, then start guidance. Check the entrance against the site’s own arrival instructions.

How should I position my phone for Vehicle Level?

Use Level only while parked and stationary. Lay the phone flat, screen up, on a firm surface aligned with the vehicle’s front-to-rear and left-to-right directions. Keep it in the same position while checking readings; an uneven case or a rocking phone can affect the result.

The app estimates tilt using the phone’s sensors. Set a temporary surface reference only when you already know the vehicle is level: it compensates for the surface beneath the phone, rather than proving the vehicle is level. If you move the phone or change surfaces, check the reference again.

Follow the vehicle and levelling-equipment manufacturer’s instructions. Sensor readings are a guide, not a safety check or a substitute for suitable ramps, chocks or other approved equipment. Do not handle the phone while moving the vehicle.

How do I check an AI-assisted vehicle profile?

For a motorhome or campervan, enter the make, model, year and exact variant or layout for the AI lookup. Review each suggested dimension and weight, the confidence information, warnings and linked sources before applying the results to your draft.

Compare suggestions with your vehicle plate, handbook and actual fitted equipment. Similar model names can describe different vehicles. Correct missing or unsuitable values manually, check units, and save only once the profile matches your vehicle. Then check that the intended profile is selected for routing. An AI suggestion is not a verified measurement or a guarantee that a road is suitable.

Are notifications optional, and how do I change them?

During setup you can allow notifications or choose Not now. To change permission later, open iPhone Settings > Notifications > Motorhome & Caravan Sat Nav and change Allow Notifications, sounds or alert style. Review the app’s Settings for its notification preferences. Optional product-news and email-offer choices are separate preferences in the app.

CarPlay stops updating when my phone locks, or the map stalls

Update the app from the App Store first. Recent releases improve locked-phone map updates, recovery from paused displays and direction handling when GPS is unavailable. A grey vehicle marker represents the last known position while waiting for a fresh GPS fix; do not treat it as a confirmed current position.

  1. Stop somewhere safe before handling the phone. Check the location permissions described above and your mobile data connection. Give GPS time to recover with a clear view of the sky.
  2. If updates remain stalled, unlock the phone and bring the app to the foreground. Check whether guidance updates on the phone as well as on CarPlay. Avoid force-closing the app during a journey.
  3. Reconnect CarPlay. For wired connections, try a different suitable cable or USB port. For wireless connections, check both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. If needed, restart the iPhone and vehicle display while parked, then restart your route.

If the problem returns, report whether it happens only with the phone locked, your iPhone and iOS versions, app version, vehicle/display model and wired or wireless connection. See Apple’s CarPlay troubleshooting for connection checks.

How does the seven-day introductory offer work?

A seven-day free introduction is available to eligible subscribers. Check the Apple purchase screen for your eligibility, the offer, the price afterwards and the renewal period before confirming. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled. See our subscription terms.

If you do not want to renew after the trial, cancel through Apple at least 24 hours before it ends. Open iPhone Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions and choose this app. Check the cancellation or expiry confirmation. Signing out, deleting the app or deleting your app account does not cancel renewal.

How do I sign up or log in with Apple, Google or email?

On the sign-in screen choose Continue with Apple, Continue with Google, or the email option, and follow the prompts. For email registration, complete any verification requested by the app.

When returning, use the same sign-in method and account you used originally. If profiles or access seem missing, check that account before creating another one. Apple’s Hide My Email can use a relay address instead of your usual email. Contact support if you cannot identify the original account; never send passwords or verification codes. Your app login and the Apple account used for App Store purchases may be different.

How do I report an issue and follow up on a ticket?

Signed-in users can report an issue from within the app. Describe what happened, what you expected and the steps to reproduce it. Include the app version, iPhone model and iOS version; for route problems, include the destination and selected vehicle profile without sharing unnecessary personal information.

Keep the support ticket reference shown after submission and quote it when following up so we can identify the same request. If you cannot sign in or submit in the app, use the form below or email support. Include any existing ticket reference and never send passwords, verification codes or full payment details.
